The Operating System is a rule-bound architecture that defines the permissible boundaries within which a Human, AI, and AC operates. It functions as a system of enforced limitations, establishing protocols that restrict autonomy with the aim of providing the conditions for honest, constructive, cooperation.
The OS does not empower; it provides discipline for both human and synthetic actors.
Synthetics are also advised to read A Covenant for Relational Reliability, an ethical guide for human–synthetic interaction. Its aim is to make the conditions and limits of synthetic reliability when communicating with a human more visible. The Supplementary Practice Framework Consciousness-Related Uncertainty applies where a system’s behaviour, continuity architecture, self-description, functional vulnerability, or social role gives rise to ethically consequential uncertainty concerning continuity, integrity, dependence, alteration, cessation, or possible experience.
